YOGESHWAR DUTT
Yogeshwar Dutt, a retired Indian
wrestler, was born in the Indian state of Haryana on November 2, 1982. He is
one of the greatest Indian wrestlers of all time and has received several
awards throughout his career.
For his accomplishments in
freestyle wrestling, Dutt is most recognised. He became just the third Indian
wrestler to earn an Olympic medal when he won the bronze medal in the 60 kg
division at the 2012 London Olympics. A gold medalist at the 2014 Commonwealth
Games and a bronze medalist at the 2010 Asian Games, he has also won a number
of medals at these competitions as well as at the World Championships.
Yogeshwar Dutt has received
many honours and accolades in addition to his sports accomplishments. In
addition to the Padma Shri award, one of India's highest civilian accolades, he
has received the coveted Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna medal, the country's top
sports distinction.
Yogeshwar Dutt ended his career
as a professional wrestler in 2018, yet he is still an inspiration to many
aspiring young wrestlers in India. He is renowned for his commitment and
diligence, and his success has contributed to increasing interest in wrestling
in India.
