RAVI DHAIYA



In the Nahri village of Haryana, India, on December 12, 1997, wrestler Ravi Dahiya was born. He is a freestyle wrestler who participates in the 57 kg weight division. Over his career, he has received various medals and honours.

At the 2019 Asian Wrestling Championships, where he earned a silver medal, Ravi Dahiya first rose to attention. He then went on to earn a bronze medal in the 2019 World Wrestling Championships, making history as the first Indian wrestler to do so.

Ravi Dahiya, just the second Indian wrestler to earn a silver medal in the Olympics after Sushil Kumar, took home the silver medal in the men's 57kg freestyle wrestling competition at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. He persevered through several challenging battles to reach the championship event, but he fell just short to Russian wrestler Zavur Uguev.

Ravi Dahiya has received a number of accolades in addition to his athletic accomplishments. One of India's greatest athletic accolades, the coveted Arjuna Award, has been given to him.
